Most Intruder Alarm Systems operate when the building is vacated and will always have a bespoke design to the customer and the building they occupy. Door Contacts, Movement Detection, Break Glass Units, Door Contacts and Panic Alarms are standard to most installations.
The system design is application based and will vary in size and complexity dependent upon the level of threat and risk the business may attract. This is evaluated through the risk assessment process. There are a number of levels or Grades of system available with equal different signalling options.
The system will respond to an attempted entry by activating the alarm. If connected to a monitoring station the key holders or police will be alerted to the intrusion immediately.
Here at Grainger Fire and Security our systems are always supplied with fobs or tokens. The system is set and unset by means of a PACE (proximity token device) once the entry door has been opened, as detailed in (DD 243:6.4.5) setting-un setting of the system.
With the use of our regular Alarm Transmission devices such as Dualcom or BT Redcare when the system signals to a remote monitoring station and requires a police response, the system will need to comply with BS8243. A police response must be a verified signal on a new system; the most common used for the verified signal is sequential. The first signal will alert the monitoring station and only when they receive a second signal the “confirmation”, the police are alerted and called out. We will assist our customers through what can appear to be a difficult and complicated process in applying for a URN (Unique Reference Number) and Police Response.
The products we use offer us and clients the flexibility and cost effectiveness demanded within this sector of our business. Texecom and Honeywell Galaxy are our referred choice of manufacturer, however we have the experience and skill base to effectively work on all of the most common panels in the market.
